Expanded Test Area and Power Range: Two Yoha Solar YHMT Series IV Testers Shipped to PV Production Lines

October 27, 2026

Recently, two solar module I-V testers manufactured by Yoha Solar completed factory commissioning and rigorous quality inspections before being shipped to two PV module production lines in China. The units, models YHMT-2312 and YHMT-2514, are configured for different module testing requirements and are designed to help relieve bottlenecks between post-lamination testing and final inspection.

Changes in PV module dimensions and power ratings are felt directly on the production line. To accommodate the coexistence of 182 mm, 210 mm, and larger-format modules in today's market, the two testers offer different test-area and power-range configurations. The YHMT-2312 has an effective test area of 2300 × 1200 mm and supports module power ratings from 5 W to 600 W. The YHMT-2514 expands the effective test area to 2500 × 1400 mm and supports modules rated up to 650 W. These configurations do more than accommodate larger modules: they also address the demanding requirements of large-format modules for light-source uniformity and electronic-load response during production-line operation.

Measurement reliability directly affects module grading before shipment, making accuracy critical. Both models feature four-wire measurement technology and a 16-bit, four-channel high-speed synchronous data acquisition card capable of capturing 8,000 data points per test. The light source uses an imported pulsed xenon lamp, with spectral match meeting the requirements of IEC 60904-9 under AM1.5G conditions. Irradiance is stable at 1,000 W/m² and adjustable from 700 W/m² to 1,200 W/m². With irradiance non-uniformity and temporal instability both kept within ±2%, the system can rapidly capture I-V and P-V curves, providing reliable data for conversion-efficiency assessment.

Production-line takt time places demanding requirements on equipment control systems. To keep testing orderly and avoid slowing the line, the testers integrate an advanced control system that precisely coordinates the timing of the data acquisition card and electronic load while monitoring xenon-lamp service life, power-supply stability, and temperature in real time. If an abnormal condition occurs, the system can trigger an alarm and log fault information, helping reduce the risk of unplanned production-line downtime. A 5-second measurement interval and flash pulses lasting 10–30 ms support the throughput requirements of high-speed production lines.

Complex testing procedures can be a source of operator error. The 7-inch high-definition touchscreen and dedicated measurement software are designed with ease of use in mind. The software supports barcode entry to link each module to its identity information, automatically generates I-V and P-V curves, and applies irradiance and temperature corrections. Test results can be compiled and printed in Excel format. Voice readout also helps reduce misreading in noisy factory environments. To support smart-factory integration, standard RS485 and Ethernet interfaces, the Modbus TCP protocol, and Wi-Fi connectivity allow test data to be transferred to factory cloud systems.

PV manufacturers are evaluating equipment not only on standalone performance but also on how well it works with the wider production line. The delivery of these two IV testers, combining hardware capabilities with user-oriented software, marks another solid deployment by Yoha Solar in PV inspection. As end users place increasing emphasis on module power-generation performance, equipment stability and data traceability remain key measures of a manufacturer's technical capability.
